Unit 1 Outcome 2

Area of Study 2: Studio practice

The official part:

‘In this area of study we learn about studio practice and focus on the use of materials and techniques in the production of at least one artwork. We explore a range of materials and techniques and develop skills and learn to safely manipulate particular characteristics and properties of materials. We will investigate the way various visual effects and aesthetic qualities can be created in artworks. We will further develop our understanding of visual language and explore subject matter to convey individual ideas through the use of materials and techniques in a range of art forms. To consolidate the knowledge gained, we will undertake a process of reflection and evaluation in written and visual form that is progressively recorded in a visual diary.’
